Jose is Sober and Housed Thanks to Your Support!

You helped Jose build a bright future for himself and find stability again.

Jose has a history of substance use, which led to the loss of his job and eventually left him homeless. It was a heartbreaking time for Jose. He lost his confidence and dignity and even misplaced some of his important personal documents.

But now, thanks to your support, Jose has been sober for over 18 months and has a place to call home!

You see, Jose entered recovery and worked hard. He remained committed to sobriety even when things were challenging.

Thanks to your generosity, Jose was able to secure a full-time job, participate in Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and pursue his search for housing.

Jose is thrilled to be living in a safe, sober living place he can now call home. He is surrounded by a supporting community that cares for him and has a bright future ahead of him because of your support!

Thank you for being there for your neighbors like Jose when they needed you the most. Your support made a big difference!

You Helped Linda Find a Home

Thanks to your support, Linda can continue caring for her mom and have a safe place to live.

Linda found herself facing homelessness during one of the hardest times of her life. Thankfully, because of your support, Linda was able to find a home of her own and avoid homelessness.

Her mother was gravely ill, and so Linda left her own home and moved in with her mom to be her caretaker. What she did was selfless and kind, but it put her in a very challenging situation. While caring for her mother, Linda learned that she was violating the rental agreement by living there. She didn’t want to risk her mom’s housing, but she didn’t know what to do. With nowhere to turn and already facing her own mental health and physical challenges, she came to Dorothy’s Place. And it’s because of your support that Linda received a voucher, which helped her secure this safe and permanent place to live. Now, for the first time in what feels like years, Linda can breathe easier and continue caring for her mother.

Thank you for helping people like Linda find safe and secure housing. It’s because of your support that she can continue caring for her mom.

Rick shared:

“This is where the rubber meets the road. These people are serious. They get things done right away. They do not mess around. They are some real fine people. Thank you!”

Thank You for Helping Rick Finally Find a Home

Rick is a bright 68-year-old man who has struggled with injuries and chronic lung conditions that left him homeless for over 10 years. He tried hard to find a safe place to stay, but nothing ever seemed to work out. He was feeling depressed and anxious about his future until a friend recommended he come to Dorothy’s Place. And that’s when your gift made an enormous difference!

Because of your generosity, Rick was able to receive the support and care he desperately needed.

As soon as Rick contacted Dorothy’s Place, he was able to connect with a social worker and get the medical treatment he needed. But the good news doesn’t stop there—this summer, Rick moved into permanent housing! This is all possible thanks to your support.

Your generous support made a difference in Rick’s life.

Thank you for showing your neighbors you care.
