- St. Clare’s Corner provides household goods, clothing, and food to families and individuals that live in the neighborhood that surrounds our East Salinas House of Peace Transitional Living residence. St. Clare’s Corner, open during the high unemployment months for farm workers from October through April, serves as a necessary buffer to help families make ends meet during lean times.
With support from the Monterey County Food Bank, St. Clare’s Corner is open every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to noon, or as needed on an emergency basis. The atmosphere is that of a farmer’s market, in which we provide activities for children so that their parents can freely “shop” for the items they need. Our House of Peace residents enjoy helping their neighbors with this weekly “shopping” experience.
If you wish to contribute to this program, either financially, with in-kind donations, or both, click here. During the season, we accept children’s clothing and toys at Dorothy’s Place for distribution at St. Clare’s Corner.
