EXEMPT: Non-exempt, full-time REPORTS TO: Program Director COMPENSATION: $18/hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The Healthcare Data Entry Specialist Hybrid Position is two part-time data entry positions combined into one full time (40 hours/week). In this hybrid position, healthcare claims entry, review, and adjustment comprise 20 hours/week; and fundraising data entry, review and adjustment comprise the other 20 hours/week. This is an excellent position for an experienced claims processor to develop a new skill in fundraising data entry using Raisers Edge NXT, or vice versa.
This position is offered initially for 12 months, with a likelihood of extending indefinitely. The position offers immediate medical/dental/vision benefits at no cost (employee only), and depending upon experience, can be performed remotely (remote position requires that you live within 25 miles of the job site in Salinas, CA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:
Ensure the accurate and timely entry of health care claims and fundraising data
Enters claims into an online healthcare portal using source documents such as spreadsheets, case notes and other files.
Enters fundraising data into an online fund development portal (Raisers Edge NXT) using source documents such as donor checks, donor correspondence, and in-house receipts
Assigns/reassigns claims appropriately as outlined in our processing guidelines
Resolves claims that pend with errors in the processing system by researching claims received and speaking to program staff
Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
Updates and maintains Raisers Edge NXT database
Attend weekly staff meetings, staff in-service and other trainings
Meet regularly with program manager or director for coordination and mentoring
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Associates degree in a related field (preferred) and 2 years data entry experience or high school diploma/GED and four years data entry experience
Basic understanding of healthcare claims including ICD-9 and CPT codes
Ability to multi-task, including ability to understand multiple applications and programs while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Must be detail-minded with independent work habits
Previous experience in fundraising data entry (preferred) or previous experience with Raisers Edge NXT (most desired)
Language and Communications Skills:
Ability to effectively present information both orally and in written format and respond to questions from staff, consumers, residents, government entities, accountancy authorities, service partners and the general public.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn additional applications if required (such as medical billing software and Raisers Edge NXT).
Well organized, self-starter
Possesses excellent telephone, computer (MS Office), written, and verbal communications skills in English
Ability to keyboard at least 50 wpm with high accuracy rate
Must possess a smart phone
