POSITION SUMMARY
Our mission is to provide essential services and opportunities to transition out of homelessness, specializing in working with consumers that are chronically unsheltered, and we have never been closer to success. Every day, we work side by side with consumers from all over Monterey County, and our collaborative partners, to make what seems overwhelming and impossible HAPPEN, serving with client-centered plans, mapping a way out of homelessness and extreme poverty. The work is extremely difficult and requires extraordinary resources, and a new resource paradigm. This new paradigm is already developing.
The Development Director works closely with the Executive Director and they together are responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship plan that sustains this effort and builds resources to endow the future.

Those suffering through chronic homelessness in Salinas’ Chinatown are given extraordinary opportunities to move out of unhealthy and unsafe encampment living and into safe and secure housing. Each recovery plan is driven by each individual’s desires to achieve good health and happiness. Dorothy’s Place has joined with innovative stewards of our community in the private, public and non-profit sectors to collectively move forward in housing those that are chronically homeless and create sustainable social change.

Development of income

This job requires routine travel (driving) within the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula areas and occasional driving and other travel to attend training and conferences.
